Surface and edge preparation of cutting tools                                                                                                     Primateria have developed treatments for preparation of tools and components for optimal function. The Prima treatments is today unsurpassed and there is no commercial method which can compete with us in combining an optimal treatment of the flute and flake surface with a correct edge preparation which is suitable for the tool type and the application.  We can today offer three unique Prima treatments for our customers. Polishing of all types of tools and components
Primateria performs cost efficient polishing with high quality of both tools and components.  We polish a great number of forming tools manufactured in different types of tool steels, e.g. plastic forming tools, rollers. We also polish more complex details in various types of materials (titanium, stainless steel and aluminium) with great success.

The Prima treatment removes material and leaves no polishing residues pushed into the work material which can effect any coating process afterwards.


 

 

Tool sales

Primateria offer several types of tools. For example we sell gear milling tools in both cemented carbide and HSS. Further, Primateria is a re-seller of SMOC broaches in the Nordic markets.

Primateria has also started to restore CBN inserts which are normally scrapped. After our restoration (including regrinding, polishing and coating) the inserts have  normally an improved performance and a lower price as compared to new inserts.

 

Analyses

Performed at Ångström laboratory Uppsala University, one of Europe's most modern and well equipped laboratories.

Common types of investigations are, e.g. break down investigations of tools and components to find out questions like how and why.  Analyses of friction and wear mechanisms to come up with a diagnose of the situation to be able to give recommendations for improvements.
